Social Media and Web 2.0 innovation continues by the big three: Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn; but Facebook is really the chief innovator! They are now taking it to the next level. Facebook seems so far ahead of the game.
Facebook has over 400,000,000 (that 400 Million) users! They turned a corner and posted profits. They beat Google and Yahoo in traffic few weeks ago, and later became the most searched word on the internet. They now produce 41% of all social media traffic.
Facebook's ability to bring in and share rich media right on their platform (i.e. pictures, audio, and video) has been impressive. Now they are extending the social experience to partner sites, such as Microsoft's docs.com (where you can create Microsoft Office Documents with your facebook connections, Pandora (for internet music and radio experience); and Yelp (a business rating website, but really more than that), and others.
Social Media and Web 2.0 journey is getting more and more fun, and meaningful.
By the way, you may have already noticed that Facebook also changed their "fan page" terminology. "Become a fan" is out; "like" is in. Just two days ago we wrote a blog post on this titled: Facebook says: Bye Bye "Become A Fan" -- Hello "Like"
Speaking of like, would you kindly "Like" our Office Divvy facebook page?
